The Shining Feather Soft Stroke Brush is one of a kind!
Each brush is "hand cut" by Sharon, she developed this brush over 30 years ago for herself and her students. It is NOT a filbert rake, cat's tongue, script liner, wisp or fan brush....it is totally unique! These brushes are all cut by machines and will not create beautiful fur like the Shining Feather Soft Stroke Brush. Most are too stiff or have way too much filament which will not produce the results you want! It was not available to the general public until 2003, when it was introduced at the Las Vegas Painting Convention. Since then it has sold to hundreds to artists all over the world! Each brush is carefully hand cut by Sharon and tested to make sure it will perform before it is sold. *Don't settle for the knock-offs....that are cut by machines! *You have tired them all so why not try the only one that works! *They don't work like this brush and won't last as long! *They are simply a waste of your money! Story of My Brush!
By Sharon Teal Coray I Love to paint fur and baskets and I love to teach this method. Over 30 years ago I developed this brush and technique for paint fur and baskets. At the time I was in many galleries and I needed a way that I could paint my fur and baskets faster, up until then I had been using a script liner! I searched all over for the right brush that would give me the results I wanted, but could never find one. So the saying, "Necessity is the Mother of Invention", was put into action! My Shining Feather Soft Stroke Brush is the result. I experimented with many brushes before finding the one that has worked the best. I have been cutting this brush for myself and my students for many years! Thinking that is was a good idea to find a brush company to make them for me, in 2002 I approached a brush company at the Las Vegas convention with my hand-cut brush, they were very excited and told me they could reproduce it with my name on it. I think I saw dollar signs in their eyes! As it turned out they took my brush and my idea and made their own which is now known as the "WISP" This is a bristle brush which is necessary for machine cutting and in no way will work like mine. It is just too hard and stiff and the results are thick strokes nothing like the delicate ones I can get with my hand-cut brush. I then contacted FM Brush Co. and they made a brush that they thought would work and sent it to me to try, it didn't work like mine too much filament and the strokes were too close together it is known now as the "Fandango" . I finally had to realize that there was no way my brush could be cut by a machine and mass produced. I would have to cut each and every one I sold which I now do! With this brush and my easy instructions you will be able to paint beautiful real looking fur and baskets, texture, grass, scrolls, hair and Santa Beards in no time at all! It takes just a few minutes of practice to do this! You will get just the right amount of hairs in each stroke, no clumping thick lines like the other brushes on the market. Your fur will look soft and real! Brush companies have tried to copy this brush using a machine for the cutting, however, machine cutting does not achieve the same results that the delicate "hand cutting" creates. The machine produces a hard "blunt" end on the bristles resulting in "thick" harsh looking fur instead of soft realistic looking fur. Because this brush is made with the highest standards you are guaranteed to have a superior quality brush that will last a long time with the proper care.
